This video is very well done imho, totally worth watching and pondering over, it is called “Let Your Life Be a Friction to Stop the Machine” which is a quote from the writer Henry David Thoreau. That title means put your life on the line to resist or stop the machine ie (multi-national) corporations (MNCs).
It is sooo nice to see more and more media being produced in the name of fairness, sharing, and decency, more power to indie media !
So, right and wrong: I know that it is totally possible to lose sight of one’s conscience. Our conscience is a very delicate entity, it is gentle and quiet and so subtle. Feelings of fear and desperation can make it extremely difficult to hear. That’s why we need each other to help us all assume better posture. The more we feel connected to one another the more responsibility we feel to something greater than ourselves, a greater purpose that encompasses us all collectively.
Like this video is saying, our world needs positive change, and the only way to lead is by example. We all need to step up and share and have faith that we are making a difference. Tune into that idea that sharing and caring is a power that we can tap into and is strengthened by each and every one of our positive actions. Strive to be a better person for everyone we meet, and of course for yourself. Whenever you do something sweet and that person, a friend or a stranger responds don’t you love that moment?! See ourselves in each other. And celebrate the happiness that we cause in each other.
Change is what keeps people alive and vital, it’s exciting and a challenge that brings out ingenuity and creativity in everyone. If this video makes you feel that the jig is up, as it did me, embrace it. The change can be gradual and totally enlivening. If this country was built up in one way so be it, I don’t believe that just because the US was built by exploiting slaves, etc that we have that karma to pay off. We all living today had nothing to do with that. And on that same token if there is a system in place today that is fueled by greed so be that. I’m not placing any blame, that system has nothing to do with me (or you most likely) either. What is my affair are my ideas, creativity, motivation, my choices, communications with others, willingness to participate and share, etc.
There is so much “stuff” laying around that we don’t need to produce another thing for another 10 years. What be cool is to re-work all the materials that are just all over the place and grow food and ban together and figure out all what we want to do. This country is ours, what do we want? From all the media I have looked at lately it sounds like people want homes, food, friends. That seems like a great place to start. All this despair about jobs. Why not create your own job, grow your own food. Make a garden project with your neighbors, the possibilities are endless. Don’t know your neighbors? Get outside and start gardening and you’ll meet them, trust me, I know
The way I see it, community driven/oriented projects will bring people closer together and result in deeper relationships that are based in real caring. However you envision it, this country is already changing. Why ask for some corporation to provide you with a job that really will take up a lot of your time and that you will feel so dependent on an entity that probably has a mission of maximizing profits, not making sure you are OK.
Use you’re gifts, multiply your talents, make us all proud and share what you do on the internets so we can all be inspired.
